Education is dead

Yup, you read that right - the guy who owns an education website and has devoted his entire life to learning and most of the last 10 years to educating other coaches believes that education is dead.

Now, before you get your panties in a bunch, I don’t think learning is dead, in fact, I think learning is at its all-time high, but education as we know it is officially gone the way of bell-bottom pants.

As it stands, someone who has access to YouTube and an AI like ChatGPT can learn everything they need to learn about the human body, biomechanics, training, nutrition… you name it.  Truthfully, I think that is an amazing thing.

It’s had a lot of really positive impacts on the field of coaching…

• Our clients are coming to us more informed than ever before

• They’re asking us more questions and holding us to a higher standard

• They’ve already tried many things and are bringing more information to the table about what works for them and what doesn’t

… the list goes on and on.

The main benefit that I see is this - they are craving more connection.  They are yearning for a person to take an interest in them, invest in them and listen to them.  They NEED a relationship.

In the field of education, I am seeing the same thing.

You know why podcasts are so popular?  

Hint - it’s not because they offer anything different from a knowledge standpoint.  

It’s because they allow YOU, the listener, to feel connected to the hosts, listen to discussions of context and be presented with a nuanced conversation about whatever it is that’s being spoken about.

This is something that AI and the internet cannot replace.  

The traditional online education model is one that presents information in a vacuum.  “This is the evidence-based, optimal way of doing things.”  An AI can do in 10 minutes what it previously took an online educator 40 to communicate, and it does it better.

The field of online education is now a race to zero.  You don’t want to be lectured to, you want to be involved.  You want a connection.  You want context.

That’s what Coaches Corner U is going to provide you with our new CEU-accredited courses.

These will be interactive, podcast-style modules where the instructors teach by discussing the content, provide context and real world examples and DISAGREE in a productive manner.  There will be an online community where you can interact with the instructors and bi-weekly access to LIVE Zoom calls where you can ask your questions live and discuss the course materials.

That is what the education space is missing and that’s why those who do not adopt a new style of teaching will see their businesses fail.

There is a lot to come from CCU in 2025.
